I live in the Midwest, and summers here can be severely hot and humid. Midwestern summers are NOT a curly-haired girl’s best friend.
My typical summer hairstyle is a curly mess of a ponytail.
Because the alternative is this:
When I got my hair cut last week, the stylist told me about smoothing treatments. Apparently, for about $100 and 2-3 hours of your time, you can get a smoothing treatment that will take the frizz out of your hair for a few months and not affect your curls. If you want straight hair, you can pay around $300 for a Keratin treatment that lasts a few months. I have to admit, I was pretty intrigued by the smoothing treatment. The idea of frizz-free curly hair for the summer? Sounds pretty freakin’ spectacular.
Have you ever gotten a smoothing treatment or a Keratin treatment? What are your thoughts – good/bad?
