I skipped writing a #Mamavation Monday post last week, because I had run out of things to say without revealing my secret. I wasn’t going to lie, but now that I’ve outed myself – we’re expecting Baby Deuce! – I can finally tell you all what’s really been going on in the past month or so.
I’ve had a good seat on the struggle bus these past 4-5 weeks. I’ve been very sick with hyperemesis. I went to the hospital for IV hydration a couple weeks ago, but since then I’ve been able to get just enough liquids in my body. Not as much as I should, but enough to keep me going. Most days in the past month, I’ve only been able to consume about 500 calories. Needless to say, I have zero energy to workout. Instead, my focus has been on sustenance.
My wheat-free commitment had to go out the window, too. Most of what I can tolerate is not very nutritious, and it certainly isn’t wheat-free! I’ve been living on cereal, bread, crackers, mac and cheese, etc. Sometimes hard candy, sometimes flat soda.
I haven’t been a poster child for Mamavation lately! But my focus until the end of this first trimester struggle is keeping myself going every day. Taking care of myself, C, and Baby Deuce. I hope to start exercising and eating healthier in about another month once this hyperemesis (hopefully) subsides. Until then…I’m taking this whole thing a few hours at a time, because thinking about it in weeks is overwhelming!
This post is sponsored by Lilly’s Sweets and hosted by Mamavation – a community dedicated to obesity prevention & weight loss for women and I’m writing this to be entered into a giveaway.
