UPDATE: I took this back to the store the day after posting this. I wanted to make sure that they knew they had 5-months-expired food on their shelf, even if they wouldn’t refund my money. But they DID refund me the full $5.25 that I paid!
So…I’m pissed about this and thought I’d toss this up on the ol’ blog.
I just bought this all-natural lemon juice two days ago (and paid $5 for it), because sometimes I’ve been having a difficult time drinking plain water due to my hyperemesis. I’ve been adding it to my water regularly since I purchased it.
It didn’t even occur to me to check the expiration date, because I bought it at our local Copp’s grocery store, which is a very nice Roundy’s store. Tonight I noticed that it has a “best if used by” date of MAY 12, 2012.
That is over FIVE months ago. I wouldn’t be as upset if I wasn’t pregnant. But, I mean, who knows what’s festering in there five months after its prime. I’m really pissed that I threw out the receipt, not thinking that I’d need to make a return to the grocery store for just one item.
So let this serve as a reminder to check the expiration dates on items you’re purchasing for you and your family!!

yikes! I would be so mad if I was pregnant & drank this too. Glad you are OK!
