I don’t know about you, but I have some tried and true recipes that I always bring to potlucks. It’s great to have appetizers that you can make in your sleep. It also gets slightly boring. 😉 I’m switching it up this year by bringing a new and fun appetizer to holiday parties. These Country Ribbon Corn Dogs are available at Sam’s Club, and they’re even offering in-store demos 1/3/14 and 1/4/14 at participating locations. You know what that means – samples!
We always enjoy going to Sam’s Club as a family. C likes all of the displays and points out the “bright lights,” on the high ceilings. When he gets antsy, we can usually find a food sample that pleases him! The Country Ribbon Corn Dogs were easy to find in the appetizer section of the frozen foods.
Country Ribbon offers these corn dogs in two sizes – mini and regular. One of our annual holiday gatherings features hors d’oeuvres from every household. I chose the mini corn dogs to make a fun appetizer on a stick that people can easily grab and eat while walking around and mingling.
To keep things interesting, we made a chili cheese dip. We are Wisconsinites, after all; and what is a party without some cheese? This dip is super easy to make. You can whip it together while the corn dogs are in the oven!
- 1 can chili (I used turkey chili with beans)
- 1 – 8 oz package cream cheese
- 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Stir ingredients over medium heat until smooth.
- Pour into bowl.
- Garnish with shredded cheese.
When the corn dogs were finished baking per the box instructions, I stuck a toothpick in each of them and placed them in festive mini cupcake liners on a serving tray. These mini corn dogs are a cute addition to the appetizer table!
