Our family engages in a lot of sensory play and I’m always looking for new ideas to switch things up. Jo adores Minions. Her Bob, Stuart, and Kevin plushes were bedtime necessities for months. The new Bounty Despicable Me 3 prints inspired me to create a Minions sensory activity. I combined Jo’s love of art and Minions for this Minions footprint sensory craft!
It was a beautiful day, so we set up in the front yard. Here’s what you will need for this activity:
- yellow paint
- blue paint
- 2 paintbrushes
- paper plate
- construction paper
- Bounty Despicable Me 3 limited-edition prints
- black marker
Using two different paintbrushes, I applied yellow paint to the bottom of Jo’s foot and blue paint to the top half of her foot. The heel will actually be the top of your Minions. Does your child have ticklish feet? Hold on tight!
Place your child’s foot onto the construction paper. You may want to hold their ankle to prevent smudges. Now, repeat the process twice if you’d like to create Kevin, Bob, and Stuart!
Jo enjoyed cleaning off her foot with the Bounty Despicable Me 3 prints! She laughed at the thought of Kevin cleaning her toes. That silly Kevin.
Once your Minions footprints are dry, use a black marker to create their eyes, mouths and hair!
The new Despicable Me 3, rated PG, hits theaters on June 30th! It’s on our family’s list of must-see summer movies. Until then, we’re getting the celebration started with our sensory activities, pretend play, and Bounty prints paper towels and quilted napkins. Are you excited to see the new Despicable Me 3? Which Minion is your favorite?
