Cravings…
Thanks to pictures posted by various Facebook friends, I want a Shamrock Shake and a piece of chocolate cake. Stat.

Hunger?
I thought pregnancy – especially the 3rd trimester – brought a flurry of hunger?! I almost wish that I felt hungry, because I don’t think I’m getting the recommended caloric intake. I’m just never really hungry. Most of the time I force myself to eat. Tonight, I ended up getting lightheaded and realized that hypoglycemia was setting in.
Argh.
Weekly Update
30 weeks
Size of baby: Butternut Squash (17 in., 3.1 lbs) (although, he was bigger than this 1.5 weeks ago…)
Newly craved food: Last night I wanted oreos and milk, but there haven’t been any weird cravings in a while.
Food aversions: Beef, fried foods
What do you miss: Being able to cross my legs.
What are you looking forward to: We’re going away this weekend and I can’t wait! It’ll be so fun to have one last weekend away together before the baby comes.
What was the BEST part of last week? We had an awesome Saturday together, the first day (including weekends!) that the hubster took off of work since we visited family for the holidays.
What was the WORST part of last week? A preterm labor scare. (turns out it wasn’t though!)

Size of baby: Small cabbage (17 in., 2.9 lbs)
Newly craved food: This is so random and I haven’t caved into this craving yet…but Little Debbie Zebra Cakes. I don’t think I’ve had one of those since I was in elementary school, so I find it a little confusing!
Food aversions: Beef, fried foods
What do you miss: Working…it’s been a little difficult not getting out of the apartment as much as I used to.
What are you looking forward to: Seeing our baby via ultrasound on Friday. Apparently I’m carrying a monster baby, so they’ve scheduled a growth ultrasound since I’m measuring further ahead.
What was the BEST part of last week? Catching up on some sleep over the weekend. It was weird not having the hubster home while he was at a conference, but it was also kind of nice going to bed early and not feeling like I was missing out on time with him.
What was the WORST part of last week? Back pain.

26 weeks
Size of baby: Cucumber (approx. 15 in., 2.2 lbs)
Newly craved food: I indulged in some Cold Stone this week and it was fantastic!
Food aversions: Beef, fried foods
What do you miss: This week I started to miss working in a full-time job, mostly because of the constant social interactions that come along with it. It’s weird being home all of the time, and I’m looking forward to having our baby to keep me busy!
What are you looking forward to: My three pregnancy workout DVDs just arrived and I am excited to try them out! Look for reviews in the upcoming weeks
What was the BEST part of last week? We moved around our furniture in our living room and bedroom. The pack and play is now set up in the bedroom, which is nice but also a little strange since the baby won’t be coming until April! Our living room rearrangement provides for some more floor space and we’re enjoying how much bigger it feels now.
What was the WORST part of last week? Even since taking this picture on Tuesday, I feel like my belly has taken on a life of its own because it looks so huge now. My belly feels so heavy by the end of the day and I am becoming more and more aware of how much my lap is starting to disappear. It’s so strange! But I suppose that may be the reason for my discomfort the past several days.

Size of baby: Eggplant (approx. 9.2 in., 2 lbs)
Newly craved food: Chocolate, Cold Stone Creamery ice cream
Food aversions: Beef, fried foods
What do you miss: Nothing new
What are you looking forward to: I ordered three pregnancy workout DVDs today and am excited for them to get here. I so badly want to work out, but my usual workouts were too high intensity for me to do now.
What was the BEST part of last week?
1. Having a great doctor appointment! Found out that I’m measuring big, so if I’m still measuring big next time then we’ll do an ultrasound to see if my due date is incorrect.
2. I only gained 3 pounds in 5 weeks!! I’m so excited that I’m not gaining too much weight. I’m right on track for being on the lowest end of the recommended weight gain.
3. Finding a church in our new hometown and signing up for a Bible study – I’m hoping that I’ll meet some other young moms in the area while also stepping out of my comfort zone.
4. After a few days of being less active, my little acrobat is moving around quite often now. It’s a little frustrating at times if he’s kicking me in an uncomfortable place, but generally it’s fun to feel him move or see my belly jump a little from his kicks.
What was the WORST part of last week? The past two days I have been SO tired. It’s hard to get anything accomplished! I’m hoping that it’s just normal and that I won’t end up being anemic.

Size of baby: Eggplant (approx. 9 in., 1.7 lbs)
Newly craved food: Oranges
Food aversions: Beef, fried foods
What do you miss: Working out at the gym! I think this is the one thing that I miss most about not being pregnant. I loved being able to go to the gym, put in my headphones and tune the world out for an hour while I sweated off all stress.
What are you looking forward to: Putting all of our little boy’s new clothes, toys and blankets away! His stuff is littered all over our living room while we were sorting through it. We had two baby showers while we were visiting family for the holidays.
What was the BEST part of last week? Hanging out with friends and family.
What was the WORST part of last week? Not getting enough sleep = me not feeling so well.

Size of baby: Banana (7 inches, 11 ounces)…although via the ultrasound we know that he was 13 ounces last Friday!
Newly craved food: Assorted Creams – Chocolates by Russell Stover
Food aversions: Fried foods
What do you miss: Running
What are you looking forward to: Getting a bunch of stuff done this week and then going to visit family next week through the New Year!
What was the BEST part of last week? We found out that we’re having a boy!
What was the WORST part of last week? Insomnia.

Size of baby: Turnip (approx. 5 inches, 5 ounces)
Newly craved food: Kraft Spaghetti
Food aversions: Beef and fried foods
What do you miss: I really, really, really still miss running.
What are you looking forward to: Being able to fall asleep before 3am. This week has not been pleasant so far.
What was the BEST part of last week? Going out to lunch and then shopping with the hubster. Sounds simple, but it was fun to get out and spend time together.
What was the WORST part of last week? I am *not* a fan of the insomnia.
Here I am, on painfully little sleep for two nights in a row. I look like crap, but here it is:
Kraft Spaghetti
Have you ever tried Kraft’s Tangy Italian Spaghetti? It comes in a box like Macaroni & Cheese. You add the spices from the packet to a can of tomato sauce, boil the noodles and voila! You have a fabulously delicious, spicy spaghetti. It truly is fantastic.
Today, I had a strong craving for Kraft Spaghetti. And when a strong craving strikes, I will go to great lengths to satisfy it. I walked up and down the aisles of our usual grocery store, growing increasingly more desperate. No luck. :’(
Off to the next grocery store I went…with the last resort being Walmart if necessary (Walmart was on the opposite end of town). Up and down every aisle. Desperation and terror setting in. ALAS! There it was! I saw four beautiful boxes of Kraft Spaghetti. And I bought them all.

Size of baby: Avocado (approx. 4.5 inches, 3.5 ounces)
Newly craved food: Nothing new this week, although I am starting to enjoy a nightly cup of hot chocolate!

What do you miss: (Background = we moved to a different state over the summer.) I miss being closer to family for quick trips to visit.
What are you looking forward to: More energy!
What was the BEST part of last week? Only needing to take Zofran ONE TIME! So exciting!
What was the WORST part of last week? There weren’t any bad parts of last week. My weeks are definitely improving.

I’m carrying low and starting to look like I shoved a ball underneath my shirt. This is leading me to believe that we could possibly be having a boy…
