#Mamavation Monday: 2-Week Challenge Update and Lunch With @rachhabs!

This week started off great, was not so fun in the middle, and ended on a high note.

I started this week participating in the Mamavation Two Week Challenge with Bob Harper Live.  It. Was. Awesome.  Mark (@MrBookieboo) was helping me modify things as needed to accomodate Baby Deuce, and I was feeling fantastic after my workouts.

(TMI alert) But then, midweek, I started spotting.  It terrified me, and was a clear sign that I was overdoing it.  I had to bow out of the challenge in the interest of Baby Deuce’s and my health.  I’m really bummed about it, but know that it’s the right decision.

Luckily, this week ended with meeting up with Rachel (@rachhabs) for lunch yesterday!  We laughed a ton and I had a fantastic time.  It was definitely a much-needed break from my recent struggles with C and the week I had!  Thank you, Rachel for an awesome time – we have to do that more often!

My goal for this week is to take a walk every day.  Sounds simple, but apparently my body is requiring simple for now.

What are your goals for the week?

#Mamavation Monday: I Finished the #2WeekChallenge

Is it seriously Monday again?  Wow, this week flew by.  This past weekend kicked off a fall filled with out-of-town weddings and weekends away with family and friends.  It’s going to be pretty crazy, but I’m really excited.

I finished the 2 Week Challenge this weekend, and it kicked my bootie!  I lost 1.5 inches total off of my waist and thighs.  Those are some results I can get on board with! ;)

This week on Mamavation TV, Melissa Paris (@Melissa_Paris) will be chatting with us about simple ways to include weight training in our workout routines.  Stop by tonight at 7pm PST/10pm EST to check it out!

Mamavation Monday: Halfway Through the #2WeekChallenge!

I got involved in Mamavation through their first Two Week Challenge.  I was frustrated with my stalled postpartum weight loss and it sounded like an awesome way to kick my body into gear.  Needless to say, I was hooked.

We’re now halfway through the Two Week Challenge Campaign #10!  As always, I’m getting my butt kicked and I’m loving it.  Okay, maybe I’m not loving those burpees.  Hubster regularly hears me saying, “Burpees are the devil!” as I’m in the middle of a workout.  ;)

But they work, ya’ll.  Every time I’ve participated in a Mamavation Two Week Challenge, I’ve lost inches.  It rocks my world.

So here we are, halfway through, and I have to say that I’m doing pretty well.  I started off doing the full advanced workout and…I could barely sit down for three days because my quads and butt were so sore.  Thankfully, @MrBookieboo said I could do a hybrid advanced/beginner challenge.  Now I’m challenged but I can still get down on the floor by my toddler without yelping.

How are you all doing with the Two Week Challenge?  We’re almost done! :)

We’re Taking the P90X Challenge!

Hubster and I have decided to take the P90X challenge!  Okay, so the truth is that I’m excited about it and he’s begrudgingly going along with it.  I’ve been curious about this extreme 90-day fitness program for quite some time, but was always too scared to try.  One 5k and three Mamavation Two-Week Challenges later, I feel more confident in my abilities.

We’re doing the lean version (more cardio-based) to work into it.  I think I’ll try the classic version after we finish this.  We did the first workout last night, Core Synergistics, and I felt awesome afterward!  I’m still feeling awesome today, which makes me really excited for what is to come.  I know it will be challenging and we’ll probably get pretty sore, but I’m beyond excited to see the results we’ll get.

Have you ever tried P90X?  What did you think of it?

I Did It! My Pre-Pregnancy Jeans Fit!

When I look at this, I'm happy it *only* took me 6 months! ;)

Yes, I realize it has been six months since my son was delivered via c-section.  I never thought it would take this long or be this much work to get back into my pre-pregnancy jeans.  It’s been a bit disheartening seeing other moms get back to their pre-pregnancy size, or even smaller, months before I have.  But, it’s time to put all that behind me because it’s my time now – I DID IT!  Today I was able to button my pre-pregnancy jeans!!!

I’m amazed at how difficult it is to recover from a c-section.  I still have a long way to go on my stomach for my abs to be as strong as they once were.  I strongly encourage other c-section mamas to try a Mamavation 2 Week Challenge.  My first challenge last month was difficult, but I did it.  There are still a couple days left of my second 2 week challenge and I’ve noticed a difference in my strength and, obviously, in my clothes.  It is AWESOME.  The accountability and support, via Twitter, is amazing.  I love it.

After countless hours of cardio, training for and completing a 5k, two Mamavation 2 Week Challenges and other strength training, I am so thrilled to be writing this post today.  One goal down – here’s to meeting the next goal! :)
