Our midwestern winter encourages me to seek cozy traditions to warm my spirit. I always imagined our family enjoying memorable traditions together in our home. Not just the flashy ones with lots of people and presents, but the quiet ones as well. Those sweet moments where we snuggle into each other and live in the moment. When we soak in the music, the laughter and the joy.
Cozy traditions like playing games in the living room while the snow flies. Or serving eggnog while we hang up Christmas decorations. Decorating Christmas cookies while singing holiday songs. Making popcorn and viewing a classic holiday cartoon in our pajamas.
One of our favorite family traditions is attending the Festival of Lights at Lambeau Field. We prefer to arrive at the end of the event as the crowds begin to clear. It provides a more sensory-friendly experience for our kids.
They decorate their own cookies and, if we’re not careful, pile on way too much frosting. We listen to music as we devour our delicious cookies. The kids beam from ear to ear as we enter the elevator.
They run up and down the ramps as fast as their little legs can take them. For our family, it’s part of the magic of the season.
Lambeau Field is magical during the holidays. It’s decked in lights, trees, wreaths and bows. Football fans can feel its rich history. Packers fans can taste it. We love sharing its tradition with our children.
What are your favorite warm and cozy moments of the season?
