Turning 30 this year gave me a mini-crisis, but it also inspired me to make myself a bigger priority. In the past six years, I’ve been the primary caregiver to our two children with special needs. Managing two different daily school and therapy schedules, their various appointments, meetings and daily care, along with my own career goals has put me in a tailspin! My home office is in the basement, but our family calendar is upstairs. By creating a large command center, I am able to simplify all appointments, schedules, deadlines and planning to one central location; and to keep with our rustic home decor, I created a framed galvanized steel command center to help organize my life!
Taking better care of myself also means remembering to take vitamins on a daily basis. I need to have them where I can see them and quickly access them. If I’ve learned one thing about myself in the past 30 years, it’s this: if it’s not written down or where I can see it, it doesn’t happen. I upcycled a few former gelato containers by spray painting them gold and attaching magnets to the back. My Nature Made® Adult Gummies now fit perfectly on my To-Do board so that I can remember to take them daily. Nature Made® Adult Gummies partnered with the USP, an independent 3rd party, nonprofit organization that tests for purity and potency. With independent USP verification, Nature Made® Adult Gummies are the first gummies to receive independent verification – it is a gummy you can trust. To create your own Framed Galvanized Steel Command Center, you will need:
3 – 24″ x 36″ sheets of galvanized steel sheet metal
3 – 24″ x 36″ frames
screws (drywall or concrete, depending where you’re setting up your command center!)
dry erase marker
For the upcycled containers, you will need:
3 containers to upcycle
spray paint in the color of your choice
First, upcycle your containers so that you can set them aside to dry. Wash them and wipe clean. Apply spray paint in a well-ventilated area. Depending on your coverage, you may need a second coat. Once these are dry, you can hot glue magnets to the back of them so they will adhere to your galvanized metal calendars and/or To-Do board.
Now let’s get started on the calendars and To-Do board! Be careful handling the sheet metal, as it is very sharp. You may want to use gloves when moving it. We used a yard stick to draw the lines in permanent marker for our calendars. Tip: draw in pencil first, then trace with permanent marker! Here are the measurements:
Once your marker is dry, carefully place your sheet metal into your frames. We had to remove the tacks from the back of our frames in order to fit the sheet metal in, then we placed them back in to secure it.
The To-Do board can go directly into your frame, unless you’d like to put your own permanent flair on it first! Mine will double as a business planning board, so I opted to leave it blank. My Nature Made® Adult Gummies are on my To-Do board. I am using Nature Made® Vitamin C Adult Gummies, Nature Made® Vitamin D3 Adult Gummies, and Nature Made® Energy†† B12 Adult Gummies. Vitamin C helps support the immune system† and aids with the absorption of iron†. Nature Made® Vitamin D3 Adult Gummies contain 2000 IU of vitamin D3 per serving. D3 is the body’s preferred form of vitamin D*; it helps support bone, teeth, muscle and immune health†. Nature Made® Energy†† B12 Adult Gummies contain 1000 mcg vitamin B12 per serving, and come in delicious Cherry and Mixed Berry flavors. With this new command center, I’m ready for a Mom Boss Win!
