My aunt and uncle lived in California when I was growing up in Wisconsin. Every time I visited them, I was greeted with a guest basket filled with items to pamper myself. My favorite chocolate, a journal to record memories from my vacation, a soft robe to sink into. I treasured the thoughtfulness and love that went into each basket. Now that I’ve grown and find myself hosting guests of my own, I like to keep that tradition alive. My holiday guests will receive self-care baskets this year with items like bath salts for relaxation and Vitamin C for immune support.
Traveling can be exhausting. I hope my guests will be relieved to see this waiting for them when they arrive! Self-care is an important part of supporting your health, especially during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. You want to set aside time to relax! I purchased Ester-C at Walmart for my holiday guest baskets, because it offers 24-hour immune system support. It’s also non-acidic and stomach friendly for people who have problems taking regular vitamin C formulas. I want my guests to have a healthy vacation!
We have some holiday traditions that we love. We open gifts with the kids in the morning and spend some quality playtime together.
Once the kids start fighting over toys, it’s time to don the parkas and snow boots to enjoy the winter wonderland! A quick stop at our favorite coffee shop and we’re equipped to look at the light display at the community gardens. Sipping on lattes and hot cocoa while critiquing light displays? That’s what I call a good time!
At the end of the display, you walk inside to warm up and discover a display from the model train club. It’s fun to watch the wonder in the kids’ eyes as they watch the trains race around the track!
Our guests will be able to retire to the bathtub for a warm soak and hot tea. It’s best to rest and reenergize for another fun-filled holiday vacation day!
What are your holiday traditions? What would you like to see in your holiday guest basket?
