Have you made homemade cranberry sauce? The aroma is almost better than the finished product! Cranberries, orange, hints of cinnamon…it’s the holidays in a scent. I’ve simplified my go-to cranberry sauce recipe for the Instant Pot. This Instant Pot Cranberry Sauce takes less than 5 minutes to prep and just 15 minutes to cook.
I can’t picture a holiday dinner without cranberry sauce. We always enjoyed the canned jellied variety as I was growing up. Do you remember that noise as it exited the can (shwoooop!)? I loved those jellied cranberries, but my tastes have changed over the years.
If you are cooking for a crowd, double or triple this recipe. In its current form, it makes about two cups of cranberry sauce. You will need:
12 ounces cranberries
3/4 cup orange juice
3/4 cup brown sugar
dash of cinnamon
The Instant Pot makes cooking ridiculously easy. All you need to do is dump the ingredients in the pot. I like to pour my liquids in last. Cover and seal, then use the manual setting to cook for 15 minutes.
When you open the cover, the sauce will look like mostly liquid. Don’t worry – it will thicken! You will need to stir every few minutes while it cools. When the cranberry sauce thickens and cools enough to eat, serve it with turkey or on its own!
I keep leftovers in a jar in the fridge for up to one week. This is great to use on leftover turkey sandwiches, too. Enjoy!
