“Mommy, you gave me the best dinner! I like all the things you gave me for dinner!”
I pinched myself to make sure it wasn’t a dream. Had I entered an alternate reality? I mean, the election itself was making me feel that way, but this really sold it.
Nope, I was awake. Jo really said that she liked her dinner.
It was one of those monumental little moments. For months, I came to expect a full out meltdown every time I served dinner – even if it was something the kids enjoyed. This reaction was different. A parent could get used to this!
It was a peanut butter sandwich and baby carrots. She was so excited about it that she put a carrot into her sandwich and gleefully crunched away. I had to take a picture of her creativity…and this monumental little moment.
