When was the last time you went out for a Mom’s Night Out? With two small children, one with special needs, and a husband who works long hours, it had been months since my last adventure out on the town. My husband surprised me when he suggested I go visit one of my dearest friends for the weekend. I started packing my bag right away! Three hundred miles separate Rachel and me, but we never let that stop us from packing in a weekend or two of fun every year! We wanted our Saturday night to be filled with delicious drinks, great food and an upbeat atmosphere. We ditched the yoga pants, got dolled up and headed for a Mom’s Night Out at Famous Dave’s.
Yes, Famous Dave’s! It’s the perfect place for us to laugh loudly and enjoy ourselves. Plan ahead with a reservation because Famous Dave’s always seems to be busy. Everyone knows the BBQ is fantastic! There are six different BBQ sauces to try. We had a little taste test with the house-made potato chips! Pour on a little sauce and enjoy. Do you dare try Wilbur’s Revenge? I was scared…
Rachel and I both loved the Sweet and Zesty. The Rich & Sassy is another favorite!
It’s amazing the value you can get here – so much food! I ordered the Half Baby, which is the half rack of baby back ribs. They’re available Chicago-style with sauce, or Memphis-style with a dry rub. Our lovely server was met with wide eyes when she brought us our plates. Check out that meal! The ribs were delish, the cornbread was amazing (and I don’t even like cornbread!), the mac and cheese had a kick to it, and the coleslaw was refreshing. Can somebody say, “Food coma?”
I love that there’s a roll of paper towels at the table. You can really dig into that plate of ribs, because there’s plenty of towels for the cleanup. Tip: Think twice about removing the baby wipes from your purse before dinner. You might want to use them to clean any remaining BBQ sauce off of your fingers!
You’ll likely have leftovers to enjoy later after you’ve spent most of the night laughing. I may or may not have enjoyed the rest of my ribs at 11pm. Just saying…
Would you order your ribs Chicago-style or Memphis-style? Baby or spare? Half rack or full? Stop by Famous Dave’s for some delicious food to satisfy your BBQ craving!
