It’s pumpkin season, y’all! While I do love pumpkin-flavored baked goods, I must admit that I am not a fan of the PSL. I know, I know. When it comes to pumpkin spice, people seem to either love it or hate it. One thing most of us can agree on, though, is that fall is synonymous with not only pumpkin spice but pumpkins themselves! Pumpkins for decorations, carving, painting, hollowing out for a baby photo opp…
Whatever your mission, you’ll find a ginormous selection of pumpkins at Festival Foods’ annual Pumpkin Blowout! Stop by your local Festival Foods store (find it here) on Saturday, October 7th, from 8am to 5pm for all your pumpkin needs. Choose from different sizes and shapes of locally grown pumpkins at low, low prices. At this local fall festival, you will also find fresh-pressed apple cider, mini pumpkins, corn stalks, straw bales, the Brat Barn and more.
Oh my gourd! There will also be a selection of gourds available for purchase.
Bring the kids between the hours of 9am and 3pm for family fun. While activities vary by location, some family-friendly activities include inflatables, the Festival Big Cart, petting zoo, face painting, fire department, balloon animals, games and more! All of that fun is free, so the hardest part will be getting the kids to leave when it’s time to go home.

Pumpkin carving is an excellent sensory activity that we’ll explore with the kids again this year. Wishing you and yours happy pumpkin picking at the annual Pumpkin Blowout!
