It’s the most wonderful time of the year! One of my favorite things about home ownership is putting our own touch on everything. When we lived in university campus apartments, our living situation felt so temporary that we didn’t do much decorating. Now we can go all out! Do you like creating your own home decor? It’s fun to create something that is uniquely you. This Rustic Burlap and Cranberry Wreath brings festive joy to our entrance.
You will use a grapevine wreath (find it here) for this project. I love the rustic, slightly undone look of these wreaths, with the branches barely held together. Bright red cranberries give a beautiful pop of color. I have to admit – these are all over my house this time of year!
Use burlap ribbon (you can buy it here) to create your own bow. For my fellow bow-making beginners, here is an easy burlap bow tutorial from Mommy Suite. She used a thinner burlap ribbon (2.5″) in her tutorial. With a large wreath, I chose a wider burlap ribbon (4″) to create a more substantial bow. It was a little challenging and I used a lot of hot glue. Be sure to have plenty of hot glue sticks nearby!
I love how the bow turned out. Finish it off with more hot glue! I might have gone overboard with the glue. This thing isn’t going anywhere! Slide in the pinecone pick and the cranberry stems behind the bow. Wrap the wires around the back of the wreath to secure them. Hang this rustic burlap and cranberry wreath on your front door and celebrate the season!
