Possibly the most cliche thing that anyone has ever said: time passes quickly, enjoy it while it lasts! As a new parent struggling with the daily grind of life with a newborn, it’s easy to roll your eyes and think, “Yeah okay, let’s hope I get some sleep in the next 18 years.”
BUT YOU GUYS! We have two kids in school. TWO. Both of the children that I birthed are now stepping out into the world to learn and grow. When did this happen? How did it happen so quickly? How can some days feel like an eternity as I count down to bedtime, but then I blink and we’re celebrating another birthday?
It’s some kind of witchcraft, I tell you!
The days are long, but the years are short.
I sing that phrase from the rooftops, because it is so very true.
My sweet Jo is now four years old, full of creativity and artistic expression and life. She has a tender heart and loves hard. She continues to worship her big brother and cannot wait to start school so she can be just like him. I cannot wait for her to learn and grow and thrive in an environment that is her own, away from her family. I know that branching out on her own will help her gain self-confidence.
Happy first day of school to my sweet girl.
